Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Aït Benhaddou – Skoura – Dades Valley
Tizi n’Tichka Pass (High Atlas Mountains)
Drive through the scenic High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n’Tichka Pass (2,260 meters). Winding roads, panoramic views, and small Berber villages make this a breathtaking start to the journey.
Aït Benhaddou
UNESCO World Heritage Site – a famous ksar (fortified village) made of earthen clay architecture. Featured in films like Gladiator and Game of Thrones.
Ouarzazate (optional quick stop)
Known as the “Hollywood of Africa” due to its film studios. You may visit the Taourirt Kasbah if time permits.
Skoura Oasis
A lush palm grove dotted with ancient kasbahs. The most famous is Kasbah Amridil, beautifully preserved and great for a short visit.
Dades Valley (overnight)
Known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs”, this region is full of dramatic rock formations and traditional villages. Stay near the winding Dades Gorges for a peaceful mountain night
Day 2: Dades Valley – Todra Gorges – Tinghir – Erfoud – Merzouga
Todra Gorges
Towering limestone cliffs rise up to 300 meters, forming a narrow canyon perfect for short walks and photography. Popular among rock climbers and nature lovers.
Tinghir
A beautiful oasis town with palm groves and a mix of Amazigh and Moroccan culture. Good for a quick visit or a look at local daily life.
Erfoud (optional stop)
Known for its fossil workshops and as a gateway to the Sahara. A good place for a coffee break before heading into the desert.
Merzouga (overnight)
Arrival at the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes. Enjoy a camel trek or 4x4 ride into the golden dunes for a sunset experience. Overnight in a desert camp or hotel.
Day 3: Merzouga – Alnif – Nkob – Agdz – Ouarzazate – Marrakech
Alnif & Nkob

Draa Valley

Return to Marrakech via Ouarzazate and Tizi n’Tichka.

As you leave the city, the road winds through traditional Berber villages, where homes are built into red hillsides and farmers tend terraced fields. You’ll have the chance to visit a local Berber family, learn about their daily life, and enjoy freshly brewed mint tea in their home.
The journey continues along the Ourika River, shaded by willows and fruit trees. The cool, green valley offers stunning contrasts to the arid plains around Marrakech. Along the way, you’ll see craft cooperatives, including those producing argan oil and handmade pottery.
The highlight of the day is the charming village of Setti Fatma, known for its series of small waterfalls nestled in the mountains. A short but invigorating hike takes you to the first few cascades, offering great photo opportunities and a refreshing break by the water.
You can enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch in one of the many riverside cafés, where tables often sit just beside (or even in) the flowing water.
